LIFE+ Environmental Policy and Governance

Environmental Policy and Governance

The LIFE+ Environment Policy & Governance strand aims to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of European Union environmental policy and legislation, including the integration of the environment into other policies, thereby contributing to sustainable development.

This strand supports innovative and/or demonstrative projects within the spirit of the Göteborg strategy, in particular those contributing to the Lisbon process and Europe 2020, by adding measurable social and economic benefits to environmental benefits and building a knowledge based approach.

The Commission welcomes proposals that address one of the 12 principle objectives.

  1. Climate Change
  2. Water
  3. Air
  4. Soil
  5. Urban Environment
  6. Noise
  7. Chemicals
  8. Environment and Health
  9. Waste and Natural Resources
  10. Forests
  11. Innovation
  12. Strategic Approaches

Within each objective area the Commission has developed a list of ‘favoured’ themes, however, proposals will not be excluded for addressing a theme other than those the Commission have listed.
