LIFE

BetaEurope is a free and confidential support service for the LIFE Programme in the UK, run by Beta Technology, the UK LIFE National Contact Point on behalf of Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) .

LIFE is the only European Union funding programme that targets only the environment and since it started in 1992, it has co-financed some 3954 projects, contributing approximately €3.1 billion to the protection of the environment.

LIFE is an EU funding programme that supports environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU. Since 1992 when the programme started, it has contributed approximately €3 billion to the protection of the environment.

This BetaEurope website is currently being re-developed for the new programme and further information will be added over the next few months.

18/03/14 - Watch the 2014 LIFE+ Info Day via webcast

09/01/14 - The new LIFE Regulation has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union. The Regulation establishes the Environment and Climate Action sub-programmes of the LIFE Programme for the next funding period, 2014–2020. The budget for the period is set at €3.4 billion in current prices.
